After Minato (Hiromi Nagasaku) and Oedo (Kenichi Matsuyama) make a trip together to visit Mori’s (Soma Santoki) family home, César (Jua) and the others can’t resist teasing them about their chemistry. Minato laughs it off, but finds herself seeing Oedo in a slightly different light.

Meanwhile, Oedo’s class enters the next stage of training. Just as Minato is struggling to perfect squid nigiri, she receives alarming news: her son Nagisa (Motoki Nakazawa), who is training to become a bullet train driver, has collapsed and been taken to the hospital.

Nagisa returns home to recuperate, but instead of accepting Minato’s care, he shuts her out and retreats into himself. Then, he hits her with a shocking revelation…
