Episode 5
As the sushi academy reaches its midpoint, Minato (Hiromi Nagasaku) and her classmates begin one-on-one “career consultations” with Oedo (Kenichi Matsuyama), where they’re asked to think about life after graduation. With no idea what comes next, Minato is completely stuck. Meanwhile, Soma Mori (Soma Santoki), once so set on becoming a sushi chef, also seems adrift—he hands in a blank questionnaire and admits, “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do anymore…” even leaving Oedo unsure how to respond.
Then, out of nowhere, Mori’s mother Atsuko (Eriko Sato) storms into the academy in a fury. It turns out Mori quietly quit university without telling anyone and enrolled in the academy to eventually take over his grandfather Katsumi’s (Denden) struggling sushi shop.
As Atsuko vents her anger, Minato finds herself empathizing with her as a fellow mother. Before she knows it, she’s being treated as an unexpected “older sister” figure—and gets pulled into an unexpected turn of events…
