{"id":23251,"date":"2026-09-27T20:00:36","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T03:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/?post_type=socaljapan&#038;p=23251"},"modified":"2026-09-28T00:20:45","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T07:20:45","slug":"2026-09-27","status":"publish","type":"socaljapan","link":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/socaljapan\/2026-09-27\/","title":{"rendered":"September 27th 2026 O.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"> September 27th 2026 O.A.<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MyeC-O6lri8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Wismettac Sake &#038; Food Expo<\/h2>\n<p>On Saturday, September 12, the Keiro no Hi Festival was held at Nishi Hongwanji in Little Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>The festival was launched by Keiro, a nonprofit serving older adults in the Japanese American community, in conjunction with Japan\u2019s Respect for the Aged Day.<br \/>\nThis year marked the festival\u2019s 9th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>About 500 people from across Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange counties attended the event.<br \/>\nShuttle buses were provided, allowing older adults and their families to come together and enjoy the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>A vendor fair featuring local small businesses was also held.<br \/>\nAttendees browsed handmade goods and clothing, while others gathered information and resources to support their daily lives as older adults.<\/p>\n<p>A game area also offered activities such as Plinko and claw machines, where attendees had fun alongside volunteer staff.<br \/>\nThe venue was filled with smiles and laughter.<\/p>\n<p>The festival also featured Japanese sweets making, home cooking, Japanese dance, koto music, choir performances, as well as hands-on activities.<br \/>\nLunch was also provided, and participants enjoyed a full day of activities.<\/p>\n<p>Keiro also recently unveiled its new Board and Care Home, Keiro Kikyo Home, in Torrance at a preview event for community members in August.<br \/>\nThe home will accommodate six residents age 60 and older, with two shared rooms, two private rooms, and common living and bathroom areas.<br \/>\n&#8220;Staff will be on site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.<br \/>\nThey will assist residents with daily activities such as bathing and dressing.<br \/>\nCulturally sensitive meals will also be provided, including Japanese home cooking, as well as Hawaiian and Asian dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Keiro Kikyo Home is scheduled to open soon.<br \/>\nFor more information, please visit Keiro.org.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] September 27th 2026 O.A.
