{"id":21336,"date":"2024-12-08T19:00:17","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T03:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/?post_type=socaljapan&#038;p=21336"},"modified":"2024-12-10T04:38:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T12:38:23","slug":"2024-12-08","status":"publish","type":"socaljapan","link":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/socaljapan\/2024-12-08\/","title":{"rendered":"December 8th 2024 O.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"> December 8th 2024 O.A.<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z-xDAPM0I30\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Master of Carpentry<\/h2>\n<p>An exhibition of Japanese carpentry is currently at JAPAN HOUSE in Hollywood. <\/p>\n<p>This exhibition highlights the spirit and craftsmanship of carpenters preserving traditional Japanese architectural techniques.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The exhibition is divided into five sections: \u201cNature and the Japanese Forest,\u201d \u201cTools,\u201d \u201dThe Shrine and Temple Carpenters,\u201d \u201cJapanese Joinery,\u201d and \u201cTeahouse Carpenters.\u201d<br \/>\nVisitors can explore not only the intricate techniques of wooden architecture and woodworking but also the tools and philosophy that underpin them.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition\u2019s highlights include a scale model of the hipped roof of the T\u014dind\u014d Hall, a National Treasure located at Yakushiji Temple in Nara.<br \/>\nAnother notable feature is a life-sized replica of the Sa-an teahouse, designed by the renowned tea master Sen no Riky\u016b.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the exhibition features over 70 items, including examples of traditional Japanese joinery and carpentry tools.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition &#8220;Master of Carpentry: Melding Forest, Skill, and Spirit&#8221; is being held at the JAPAN HOUSE Gallery in Hollywood until January 22.<br \/>\nAdmission is free.<br \/>\nFor more details, please visit the  JAPAN HOUSE  website.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Sushi and Sake Festival 2024<\/h2>\n<p>On Sunday, November 3, the Sushi and Sake Festival was held in Little Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by the Japanese Restaurant Association of America (JRA), this event aims to promote Japanese cuisine and sake and celebrated its 23rd year.<br \/>\nIt is traditionally held around this time of year to commemorate Japan\u2019s \u201cSushi Day,\u201d which falls on November 1.<\/p>\n<p>The festival, offering all-you-can-eat sushi and sake, has become so popular that all 1,000 pre-sale tickets were sold out.<br \/>\nOnce again this year, Japanese food enthusiasts formed long lines even before the event started.<\/p>\n<p>The festivities began with a traditional sake barrel opening ceremony by representatives of the community.<br \/>\nThis was followed by an impressive live demonstration of filleting a massive 360-pound tuna on stage.<\/p>\n<p>For many attendees, sushi was the highlight of the event.
