Then, Consul General Kenko Sone stated his greetings.<br \/>\nFollowed by introducing His Majesty\u2019s global duties as well as stating the importance of the two countries working hand in hand leading the international society together.<\/p>\n<p>Next, local government officials congratulated His Majesty\u2019s birthday, and stated their hopes for a stronger friendship and further economic growth of both Japan and the US.<\/p>\n<p>Patricia M. Wyatt of the Japanese American Cultural &#038; Community Center made the toast.<\/p>\n<p>Festive Japanese food like sushi and drinks like Japanese beer and sake were served at the reception after the celebration.<\/p>\n<p>Booths promoting Japanese subculture like Godzilla and anime were seen at the site.<br \/>\nFurthermore, Tochigi Prefecture set up its own booth, aiming to attract tourists.<br \/>\nThere were tea ceremony demonstrations and shamisen performances, and guests were able to enjoy different things Japan has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>2024 OCJAA Community Service Awards Banquet<\/h2>\n<p>Sunday, March 3rd was the Orange County Japanese American Association (OCJAA) 2024 Community Service Awards Banquet held in Fountain Valley.<\/p>\n<p>OCJAA is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1986, and currently has about 350 members.<br \/>\nThey provide cultural, educational, and welfare services in Orange County.<\/p>\n<p>The banquet began with the performance by the OCO Kibou Taiko.<br \/>\nA toast took place after the sake barrel breaking ceremony, and OCJAA President, Yasuyuki Okazoe stated his greetings after a lunch in between.<\/p>\n<p>Followed by the representatives of Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of SoCal, and Consul General Kenko Sone giving their congratulations.<\/p>\n<p>Certificates of Appreciations were awarded to Yutaro Mukumoto of HONDA-YA and Japan Hollywood Network for supporting OCJAA, and the Community Service Award went to OCJAA Vice President, Sachiyo Miller.<br \/>\nAdditionally, relief funds from OCJAA for the Noto earthquake were handed over to the Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai.<\/p>\n<p>Fundraisers like raffle tickets and silent auctions were held, and there were entertainments like a koto performance, dance, and singing performance as well.<br \/>\nAnd guests enjoyed their afternoon together.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<li>Emperor\u2019s Birthday Reception<\/li>\n<li>2024 OCJAA Community Service Awards Banquet<\/li>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":20732,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"socaljapan_category":[325],"socaljapan_tag":[],"class_list":["post-20726","socaljapan","type-socaljapan","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","socaljapan_category-2024-03-march"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan\/20726","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/socaljapan"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=20726"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan\/20726\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":20727,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan\/20726\/revisions\/20727"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/20732"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=20726"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"socaljapan_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan_category?post=20726"},{"taxonomy":"socaljapan_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/socaljapan_tag?post=20726"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
