{"id":20431,"date":"2023-10-08T20:00:19","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T03:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/?post_type=socaljapan&#038;p=20431"},"modified":"2023-10-08T11:57:09","modified_gmt":"2023-10-08T18:57:09","slug":"2023-10-08","status":"publish","type":"socaljapan","link":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/socaljapan\/2023-10-08\/","title":{"rendered":"October 8th 2023 O.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"> October 8th 2023 O.A.<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3b8Yzm1yJTA\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Mutual Trading Japanese Food &#038; Restaurant Expo 2023<\/h2>\n<p>September 23rd was the Mutual Trading Japanese Food &#038; Restaurant Expo at the Pasadena Convention Center.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 32nd time for this expo as it showcases and sells the latest Japanese food and restaurant supplies.<br \/>\nIt is the largest, longest Japanese food expo held in the US, and 146 companies participated this year.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees were able to taste the newest products and unique menu items offered by each company.<\/p>\n<p>At the food section, different food products from basic ingredients like dashi, nori, wasabi, noodles, and soups to luxurious ones, such as fresh seafoods using ultra-low-temperature freezing technology, ULTS, as well as premium Miyazaki wagyu beef were introduced.<\/p>\n<p>Mutual Trading\u2019s original brand, Miyako Brand also introduced their latest plant based gyoza and other new products.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurant supplies were also available, and tablewares were highly popular as they were sold at a discounted price.<br \/>\nPersonalized engraving for kitchen knives attracted many people too.<\/p>\n<p>Takeout boxes and delivery-related supplies were also popular since the outbreak of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Brewers making different Japanese sake, shochu, whiskey, and craft beer participated in the alcohol section.<br \/>\nWorkshops were also available as 4 navigators explained how each food and drinks can be paired to complement each other.<\/p>\n<p>This year is the first in-person expo held after the COVID-19 pandemic, and the theme was \u201cVenture into a New Era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Mutual Trading, Japanese food is gaining back its popularity since the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>They will always adjust to the lifestyles of consumers and seek new business opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>2023 Keiro no Hi Festival<\/h2>\n<p>Sunday, September 17th was the 6th Annual Keiro no Hi Festival held by Keiro at Little Tokyo\u2019s JANM.<\/p>\n<p>Keiro is a non-profit organization that provides services to Japanese American senior members and holds free community events annually to celebrate Japan\u2019s \u201cKeiro no Hi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Complimentary transportation was available in 6 different locations of LA, Ventura, and Orange County.
