{"id":18649,"date":"2021-04-11T20:00:56","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T03:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/?post_type=socaljapan&#038;p=18649"},"modified":"2021-04-11T14:22:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-11T21:22:14","slug":"2021-04-11","status":"publish","type":"socaljapan","link":"https:\/\/jhollywoodnet.com\/en\/socaljapan\/2021-04-11\/","title":{"rendered":"April 11th 2021 O.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p><\/p>\n<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"> April 11th 2021 O.A.<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6SI8-KH9Wso\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Japanese Cuisine Special Goodwill Ambassador<\/h2>\n<p>The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) announced their &#8220;Japanese Cuisine Special Goodwill Ambassador.&#8221;<br \/>\nToshio Ueno of Sake School of America was chosen as one of them and his appointment ceremony was held.<\/p>\n<p>MAFF has appointed 145 individuals who can effectively spread Japanese food and dietary culture in Japan and abroad as their \u201cSpecial Goodwill Ambassador.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ueno cofounded Sake School of America in 2010 with the former president of Mutual Trading, late Noritoshi Kanai to spread Japanese sake and shochu in the US.<br \/>\nThe school has brought up many sake sommeliers and shochu advisors.<\/p>\n<p>He worked hard for Japanese sake by holding contests in China and establishing qualification courses.<br \/>\nThis is the first time an individual outside of chefs to be appointed as the &#8220;Special Goodwill Ambassador.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>An appointment ceremony for David Schlosser of kappo-style restaurant \u201cShibumi\u201d was also held.<br \/>\nSchlosser was appointed last year however, his ceremony had to be delayed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Schlosser uses different Japanese ingredients in his kappo-style dishes, giving him excellent reviews from the late and renowned food critic, Jonathan Gold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShibumi\u201d also became a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment<\/h2>\n<p>More and more people are becoming eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination in California.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, individuals over 50 years of age are eligible in LA County.
