Taka marries into a kimono shop family in Osaka\u2019s Semba district, but soon finds herself shifting into the world of vaudeville alongside her hobbyist husband, Kichisaburo (Hideaki Ito). When Kichisaburo takes a mistress and suddenly passes away, Taka is left with his debts. Determined to turn her life around, she secures a top-tier vaudeville theater through persistent negotiations. Pouring her soul into the business, she opens her theater, Hanabishitei<\/i>, proudly hanging a hana noren<\/i>\u2014a shop curtain marked with blooming flowers, and devotes herself to expanding her empire.<\/p>\n

Amid her struggles, she meets the refined and kindhearted Tomoe Ito (Tatsuya Kamikawa), who once saved a show in crisis, and develops a quiet affection for him. Meanwhile, her son Hisao (Ryota Bando), now grown, rebels against her and announces his desire to attend university in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Though bound by deep love, mother and son drift apart\u2014and the trials of war soon cast a long shadow over their lives.<\/p>\n
