ANREALAGE “A LIGHT UN LIGHT”
The gallery inside Hollywood’s Japan House opened, and the exhibit of the Japanese fashion brand, ANREALAGE had begun. Japan House is a project started by the Japanese Foreign Ministry. It is a facility that spreads Japanese cultures and technologies to the world and has 3 locations throughout the globe. The gallery held its soft opening as the grand opening of the facility is this summer, and a preview was held on January 18th to the related individuals before the public. ANREALAGE is a fashion brand found by designer, Kunihiko Morinaga and it is known for its creative concept. This exhibition is entitled “A LIGHT UN LIGHT”. Under the theme of light, clothings utilizing the latest technology were lined up. There were clothes that changes its patterns under light and clothes that patterns only appear under light. This event is free of charge. It is held until March 21st at the gallery inside Japan House on the 2nd floor of Hollywood & Highland.
JBA New Year Reception
The New Year celebration was held for the JBA at Torrance on Wednesday, January 17th. JBA is a nonprofit organization where about 500 Japanese companies are a part of and is active on spreading common knowledge between the businesses, as well as contributing to the local communities. The Orange County Friendship Choir opened up the party. At the ceremony, Consul General, Akira Chiba stated “SoCal has the highest number of Japanese companies investing in doing business overseas above all countries. That is truly impressive.” JBA Chairman, Hitoshi Ishikawa stated “We are even more proud of this organization as we found out that over 6,000 people were involved with the events that JBA held.” About 500 attended this celebration. They all socialized and exchanged business cards with one another, eating the osechi meals and sushi that were served. Lastly, the annual raffle was held. Prizes were provided by various companies and the grand prize was a round trip plane ticket from Delta Airlines.
