Seiji’s (Akira Terao) birthday party is being held at the Godo family vacation house. Minami (Masaharu Fukuyama) and Shintaro (Yo Oizumi) are both invited, but Shintaro refuses to mingle with the family.

During the party, a man barricades himself in his vacation home in the Tokyo suburbs. The suspect, Kikuchi (Masahiro Takashima), is the president of a security company and the owner of the home. He has taken his wife and daughter hostage and is demanding 1 billion yen in cash. Minami volunteers as a negotiator and Shintaro chases after the secretary ordered by Kikuchi to gather the 1 billion yen. Finding out the hostage wife is injured, Minami ignores people stopping him to go into the home by himself. He proposes that he will swap places with the wife.
