While jogging, Minami (Masaharu Fukuyama) and Agatsuma (Mio Imada) meets a man unconscious. Later, that man is pronounced dead at the hospital.

With no outward injuries, it was ruled as an accidental death, but feeling something is off, asks for an autopsy. They find out the man was poisoned, plus an odd emblem was carved into the body’s hand.

Shintaro’s (Yo Oizumi) investigation yields 3 similar victims and that all were important figures to incidents of a national level. A major investigation involving both the Public Safety Bureau and Second Division starts. Meanwhile, Minami goes to interview the victim’s wife.

Izumi (Ren Nagase) asks Minami to remove Agatsuma from the investigation. The reason has to do with trauma from a past case…
