Riku Hayase, who runs the Hayase Patisserie, is a kind-hearted pastry chef devoted to his family. Two and a half years ago, his wife Natsumi (Sayaka Yamaguchi) disappeared without warning, and he has been waiting for her return with his son Takumi (Koh Yazaki) and his mother Ryoko (Mieko Harada). But that hope is suddenly shattered. Detective Ayumi Gido (Ryohei Suzuki) from the First Investigative Division informs him that a skeletonized body has been found in the mountains, and the autopsy confirms it is his wife.

During the funeral, Riku is confronted with puzzling questions from Isamu Kaieda (Yoshi Sako), the legal counsel for GoSix Corporation, where Natsumi had worked. GoSix Corporation, a company involved in hotels and restaurants, has a shadowy side, with its CEO Wataru Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura) secretly connected to Gido. At the funeral are also Goryo’s subordinate Ko Fuyuhashi (Ren Nagase) and the company’s finance officer Ichika Kogo (Erika Toda).

As if grief weren’t enough, Detective Tsubasa Adachi (Aju Makita) and her team seize Natsumi’s computer and other belongings. Evidence soon emerges implicating Riku as the prime suspect in his wife’s murder.

Having lost the woman he loved and now pursued by the police, Riku receives a radical proposal from Ichika: to “REBOOT” his life by taking on Gido’s identity. To uncover the true killer, he abandons his family and his past and assumes Gido’s persona. However, Riku’s dangerous double life is further complicated by the relentless surveillance of Inspector Masachika Makita (Hideaki Ito)…
