Kazuko Tojima (Mari Hanafusa), a lawyer famous for medical lawsuits, comes to Tojo Uni with a citizen group claiming Amagi (Kazunari Ninomiya) is committing fraud by performing dangerous operations and demanding outrageous fees. Saeki (Seiyō Uchino) manages to settle the situation by cancelling all surgeries scheduled to be performed by Amagi.

Sera (Ryoma Takeuchi) sees Kazuko arguing with Miwa (Wakana Aoi) and goes to intervene when he finds out Kazuka is Miwa’s mother. Suddenly, Kazuko falls unconscious.

Sera immediately looks over her and sees she needs an emergency bypass surgery for her coronary artery. However, he is forced to stop the operation with some areas being too calcified. The only one that can save her is Amagi’s direct anastomosis. Kazuko refuses Amagi’s operation.

Instead, Kazuko chooses a bypass surgery covered by insurance that is performed by Elcano, Ishin University’s medical AI. Sugai (Yasunori Danta), a professor at the Ishin University and Saeki’s rival, is planning to use the AI to succeed in surgery any surgeon can do as part of his plan to earn the president seat of the Japan Medical Association.

Meanwhile, Sera goes to eat out with Miwa and Kazuko to stop her protest campaign. On the way home, Miwa tearfully explains her feelings about her mother to Sera…
