Dodgers Japanese Heritage Night

On April 27, Japanese Heritage Night was held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers regularly host special events that celebrate the diverse cultures within the community and strengthen connections with their fans.
This event highlighted Japanese culture.

Fans who purchased special event tickets received exclusive limited-edition jerseys.

At the Centerfield Plaza, Japanese artists delivered a vibrant lineup of live performances.

DJ Yuko, The Wagaku Collective, and Yoyoka Family Band were among the performers who took the stage, energizing the audience throughout the event.

Meanwhile, before the game, Shohei Ohtani drew plenty of attention from fans as he appeared in the bullpen.

During the on-field ceremony, representatives of the Japanese American community were introduced, including the Nisei Week Queen and Court, as well as Kosei Murota from the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles, drawing warm cheers from the crowd.

YOSHIKI took the field for the national anthem performance, bringing a solemn and emotional atmosphere to the stadium.

The ceremonial first pitch was delivered by Jun Endo of Los Angeles’ women’s pro soccer team Angel City FC, with pitcher Roki Sasaki receiving the ball behind the plate.

Japanese food was also served throughout the stadium, giving fans a taste of Japan as they enjoyed the game.

Keiro Caregiver Conference

On Sunday, April 19, the Caregiver Conference hosted by Keiro took place at the Venice Japanese Community Center in West Los Angeles.

Keiro is a nonprofit organization that provides supportive services for Japanese American seniors.
The organization holds the Caregiver Conference regularly to share essential information and strengthen support networks for both older adults and caregivers.

Each conference features a keynote address focused on a different caregiving-related theme.
At this session, Takeshi Yamada of U.S. Bank delivered the keynote speech.
He discussed strategies for managing caregiving costs and shared practical insight on how families can navigate conversations around care planning.

Workshops were also held on themes such as “Finding the Tools for You” and “Caring for the Caregiver.

The venue also featured vendor booths showcasing caregiving organizations, facilities, and services, where attendees sought advice on everyday concerns as well as future care needs.

About 100 people from across the Los Angeles area attended the event.
Lunch was provided, and many participants who often feel isolated in their caregiving roles connected and shared experiences. making it a meaningful and engaging day.
