Episode 8
Koichi (Ren Meguro), who inherits the Royal Family stable as an owner limited to inherited horses after the death of Kozo (Koichi Sato), is taken by Kurisu (Satoshi Tsumabuki) to observe an auction at Hokuryo Farm. There, after the colt Koichi had set his sights on is successfully bid on by Nobuyuki (Taishi Nakagawa), the son of Shiina (Kazuki Sawamura), the two strike up a friendship. Though of the same generation, Koichi finds himself drawn to Nobuyuki’s determination to break away from the long-standing traditions of the horse-racing world.
Meanwhile, although Royal Family makes an impressive debut, its form soon begins to falter. In an effort to turn things around, Koichi puts forward a bold proposal, only to face strong opposition from Hironaka (Masatoshi Ando). As cracks begin to appear within Team Royal, Kurisu senses a level of difficulty he has never experienced before.
Amid this growing tension, Koichi is invited by Nobuyuki to join a “Young Owners’ Association.” There, he becomes increasingly captivated by the progressive ideas of a new generation of horse owners—ideas that stand in sharp contrast to those of Team Royal…
