March 2016, Nagumo Shuji (Ryohei Suzuki) is a well-liked social studies teacher by both student and parents at Mie Prefectural Etsuzan Highschool. He is being considered to be the baseball club’s coach and advisor, however the club itself is mostly comprised of no-shows with only one person that has any passion. Nagumo himself does not want to take an advisor role, rather wanting to focus on his wife Mika (Haruka Igawa) and his two children.

Kanako Yamazumi (Haru Kuroki) is the new Home-Ec teacher at Etsuzan Highschool and is looking forward to strengthen the baseball club with Nagumo. She begins recruiting middle schoolers with athletic talent. Sho Inuzuka (Motoki Nakazawa), the grandson of the local leader Mikio Inuzuka (Fumiyo Kohinata) and star athlete of a prestigious team fails the entrance exam to his first choice high-school known for their strength in baseball and enters Etsuzan instead!

As Nagumo ends up being pushed along in helping with the baseball club, his peaceful life begins to change…
