The 19th Medical Chart
Airing has finished.
More than treating illness—seeing the whole person.
A new medical drama set in Japan’s emerging 19th field: General Practice.
Japan’s highly advanced medical system is divided into 18 specialized fields. Now, a new discipline has been added: General Practice, which focuses on treating patients as whole individuals—mind, body, and life circumstances included.
In The 19th Medical Chart, Jun Matsumoto takes on his first-ever role as a doctor, portraying Dr. Tokushige, a general practitioner who listens deeply and sincerely—not only to symptoms but also to the emotional and social backgrounds of his patients. Armed with careful and honest interviews, he confronts each case with empathy and determination.
The 19th Chart quietly and warmly poses a profound question to those living in today’s world: What does it truly mean to live?
